Introduction

• The act of seeing, or sight, facilitated by cooperation of photoreceptor cells with the optic nerve, lateral geniculate nucleus & visual cortex. Visual signal transduction in photoreceptor cells is mediated by a G-protein coupled cascade using cGMP as second messenger.
