Etiology

• unknown
• proposed etiologies

• congenital atresia of the pulmonary artery
• bronchiolitis acquired shortly after birth

Clinical-manifestations

• unilateral hyperlucency & hyperinflation of the lung

• usually left lung

• small pulmonary artery
• bronchiectasis in 25%
• most patients are asymptomatic
