Introduction

• Tradename: Desonide. Non-fluorinated topical glucocorticoid.

Indications

• adjunctive therapy for inflammation & pruritis in acute & chronic, glucocorticoid-responsive dermatoses

Contraindications

• do not use on eyelid [2]

Dosage

• Topical: apply BID- QID

• Cream: 0.05% (15g, 30 g, 60g)
• Ointment: 0.05% (15g, 60g)

Adverse-effects

• uncommon (< 1%)

• burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acne, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria
  

• drug adverse effects of glucocorticoids
• drug adverse effects of immunosuppressive agents
