Introduction

• The bottom part of a tooth, covered with cementum. Teeth may have one or more roots, each containing a root canal.

• Each incisor has 1 root.
• Each canine has 1 root.
• Each maxillary (upper) premolar has 2 roots.
• Each mandibular (lower) premolar has 1 root.
• Each maxillary (upper) molar has 3 roots.
• Each mandibular (lower) molar has 2 roots.
