Introduction

• Blood pressure when the left ventricle is contracting, i.e. during systole.

Pathology

• between-arm systolic BP difference of >= 10-15 mm Hg may be associated with

• peripheral vascular disease (HR=2.5) [2]
• increased cardiovascular deaths & all-cause deaths [3]
