Indications
- replacement of sodium
- chloride-sensitive metabolic alkalosis
- Ophthalmic agent: (Adsorbonac)
- temporary relief of corneal edema
Dosage
- max 4.8 g/day
- parenteral nutrition 100-150 meq/day.
- 1-2 drops every 3-4 hours PRN
- 1-2 drops every 3-4 hours PRN
- 2% solution. 15 mL.
Adverse-effects
- burning & irritation
Mechanism-of-action
- draws water out of the cornea
