Clinical-manifestations

• little impairment of consciousness - patient generally remains alert
• single neurologic modality affected

• sensory, motor, olfactory, visual, gustatory

• motor: small region of body, jacksonian, adversive, aphasia
• sensory: any of the 5 senses
• autonomic: cardiac, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary

Complications

• 
  
• disease interaction(s) of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) with seizures

Management

• agents of choice

• carbamazepine ( Tegretol)
• phenytoin ( Dilantin)
