Introduction

Indications
- examination of cell morphology
- identification of parasites
Clinical-significance
- schistocytes & thrombocytopenia -> TTP
- schistocytes & prosthetic heart valve -> heart valve leak
- RBC agglutination -> cold agglutinin hemolysis (Mycoplasma)
- spherocytes ->

Procedure
- Wright stain is commonly used for peripheral smears
