Introduction

• Tradename: Aceon.

Indications

• heart failure
• atherosclerosis [2]

Dosage

• usual dose is 4-8 mg PO QD
• higher doses are not much more effective

• Tabs: 2, 4 & 8 mg.

Mechanism-of-action

• see ACE inhibitor
• may prevent progression of atherosclerosis (8 mg/day) [2]

• treating 50 patients for 4 years seems to prevent 1 major cardiovascular event [2]
