Introduction

• Dyspnea experienced when in the supine or prone position.

Etiology

• left ventricular failure
• mitral stenosis
• obstructive lung disease

• chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD)
• asthma

• bilateral diaphragmatic paralysis
• sleep apnea
• severe gastroesophageal reflux disease ( GERD)
