Lyonization

Introduction
- The random inactivation of 1 of the 2 sets of X chromosome alleles in female diploid cells. Generally one of the 2 X chromosomes is inactivated. Selection appears to be random. Lyonization also occurs in males with Klinefelter's syndrome (XXY).
