Introduction

• Tradenames: Melanex, Eldopaque-Forte, Eldoquine-Forte, Solaquin-Forte.

Indications

• gradual bleaching of hyperpigmented skin conditions

Contraindications

• Caution: use sunscreen & protective clothing
  

• pregnancy category = c
• safety in lactation = ?

Dosage

• Hyperpigmentation: apply BID

• Cream: ( Eldopaque-Forte, Solaquin-Forte) 4% (30 g)
• Gel: ( Solaquin-Forte): 4% (30 g)
• Solution: ( Melanex) 3% (30 g)

Adverse-effects

• not common (1-10%)

• dermatitis, dryness, erythema, stinging, irritation, inflammatory reaction, sensitization, ochronosis
