Heparan Sulfate Glucosamine 3 O Sulfotransferase 2
From Anvita Health Wiki
Contents |
Function
- transfers a sulfuryl group to an N-unsubstituted glucosamine linked to a 2-O-sulfo iduronic acid unit on heparan sulfate
- catalyzes O- sulfation of glucosamine in GlcA2S- GlcNS
- unlike HS3ST1, does not convert non- anticoagulant heparan sulfate to anticoagulant heparan sulfate
- 3'-phosphoadenylyl sulfate + [[[Heparan_Sulfate | heparan sulfate]]]- glucosamine = adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate + [[[Heparan_Sulfate | heparan sulfate]]]- glucosamine 3-sulfate
Structure
- belongs to the sulfotransferase 1 family
Compartment
- Golgi apparatus membrane
- single-pass type 2 membrane protein (probable)
Expression
- highly expressed in brain
- weakly expressed in the heart, placenta, lung & skeletal muscle
