Indications
- routine vaccination against invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b in infants and children 2-71 months of age
Dosage
- IM only
- 1st dose 2-14 months
- booster at 15 months or older (regardless of number of doses given < 15 months)
Mechanism-of-action
- highly purified capsular polysaccharide (polyribosylribitol phosphate or PRP) of Haemophilus influenzae type b (Haemophilus b, Ross strain) that is covalently bound to an outer membrane protein complex (OMPC) of the B11 strain of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B
