• Helicobacter pylori IgA antibody in serum
• Helicobacter pylori IgG antibody in serum
• Helicobacter pylori IgM antibody in serum

Indications

• H pylori infection

Procedure

• ELISA: detects IgG or IgA antibodies to H pylori
  

• Sensitivity: 90-100%
• Specificity: 76-96%
• Accuracy: 83-98%
  
• Testing may be less specific in the elderly. [2]
  
• Post eradication:

• at 3 months H pylori titers decrease by 50%
• at 18 months, 60% of patients have undetectable H pylori antibodies
