Indications
Procedure
- ELISA: detects IgG or IgA antibodies to H pylori
- ELISA: detects IgG or IgA antibodies to H pylori
- Sensitivity: 90-100%
- Specificity: 76-96%
- Accuracy: 83-98%
- Testing may be less specific in the elderly. [2]
- Post eradication:
- at 3 months H pylori titers decrease by 50%
- at 18 months, 60% of patients have undetectable H pylori antibodies
