Introduction

• Tradename: Ganite.

Indications

• treatment of symptomatic cancer-related hypercalcemia that has not responded to adquate hydration

Dosage

• 200 mg/m2 IV infusion for 5 consecutive days

• Injection: 25 mg/mL (20 mL)

Adverse-effects

• common (> 10%)

• metallic taste, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, renal toxicity, hypophosphatemia

• less common (1-10%)

• hypocalcemia

• uncommon (< 1%)

• anemia, optic neuritis, hearing impairment

• bone marrow toxicity
