Introduction

  • a rapid, persistent chemical change that releases heat & light & is accompanied by flame, especially the exothermic oxidation of a combustible substance
  • the discharge of firearms or artillery, launching of a missile, rocket, or similar ballistic body or the discharge of an action potential in an excitable cell ( neuron)

Management

  • In the event of fire: RACE
  • Remove persons in danger
  • Alarm by calling 911 & internal emergency # if applicable
  • Contain fire and smoke by closing doors in area
  • Extinguish or evacuate
