Function
- degrades bioactive fatty acid amides to their corresponding acids thus terminate their signaling functions, including:
- oleamide
- endogenous cannabinoid, anandamide
- myristic amide
- hydrolyzes monounsaturated substrate anandamide preferentially compared to polyunsaturated substrates
- inhibited by O-aryl carbamates
