Epidemiology
- generally affects children 3-12 years of age
- occurs in winter & spring
Clinical-manifestations
- mild fever
- initial bright-red 'slapped-cheek' appearance
- diffuse lacy reticular rash that waxes & wanes over 3 weeks
- arthritis in adults
