Etiology

Epidemiology

  • generally affects children 3-12 years of age
  • occurs in winter & spring

Clinical-manifestations

  • mild fever
  • initial bright-red 'slapped-cheek' appearance
  • diffuse lacy reticular rash that waxes & wanes over 3 weeks
  • arthritis in adults
