Introduction

• Enlargement of a limb ( elephant leg):

Etiology

• filariasis (most common)
• lymphogranuloma venereum

Pathology

• obstruction of the lymphatics
• hypertrophy, fibrosis & edema of the skin & subcutaneous tissue
• hydrocele
• affects extremities &/or genitalia
