From Anvita Health Wiki
Introduction
- Molecules with both hydrophobic & ionic, thus hydrophilic properties. Usually salts of long-chain aliphatic acids or bases, i.e. quaternary ammonium or sulfonic acids. The surface action of detergents facilitates formation of micelles, thus their cleansing properties & ability to dissolve hydrophobic molecules in water.
