Introduction

• Autoantibody to factor II ( prothrombin).

Etiology

• low-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
• chronic lymphocytic leukemia

Pathology

• enhances clearance of factor II ( prothrombin) from the circulation

Laboratory

• in vitro coagulation tests correct with addition of normal plasma because the autoantibody does not interact with the active site of an enzyme
