Introduction

• Combination of calcium & magnesium citrate, generally twice as much calcium as magnesium, i.e. 1000 mg Ca+2, 500 mg Mg+2.

Indications

• prevention of osteoporosis
• prevention of kidney stones

Dosage

• 1000 mg of calcium QD

Mechanism-of-action

• magnesium serves to minimize constipation due to calcium
• citrate is an inhibitor of urinary calcium stone formation
