Contraindications

Dosage

  • 0.5-9.0 mg IM/ PO QD
  • 12 mg IM QD x 2 doses ( fetal lung maturation) Tabs: 0.6 mg Liquid: 0.6 mg/5 mL. Injection: 6 mg/mL, 5 mL vials.
  • Topical agent: Tradenames: Diprosone, Valisone.
  • 0.05 or 0.1% cream/ointment/lotion BID/ TID
  • Augmented betamethasone: Tradename: Diprolene. Very high potency (0.05%).
  • Betamethasone dipropionate: high potency (0.05%).
  • Lotion: 0.05% (30 mL & 60 mL)
  • Cream Ointment, or topical gel: 0.05% (15 g & 45 g)

Adverse-effects

  • common (> 10%)
  • less common (1-10%)
  • uncommon (< 1%)
