Betaglycan
From Anvita Health Wiki
Contents |
Function
- binds to TGF-beta
- possible role in capturing & retaining TGF-beta for presentation to signaling receptors
- interacts with TCTEX1D4
- extensively modified by glycosaminoglycan groups ( GAG)
- membrane bound & soluble forms with opposite effects on TGF-beta signaling; membrane bound form enhances TGF-beta binding to TGF-beta receptor complex; soluble form inhibits TGF-beta action
- membrane bound betaglycan also can inhibit activin signaling by forming complex with inhibin & ActRIIB
Structure
- contains 1 ZP domain
Compartment
