Indications

• assessment of autonomic dysfunction

Procedure

• sudomotor

• quantitative sudomotor axon reflex test (QSART)
• silastic sweat imprint
• thermoregulatory sweat test
• changes in sympathetic skin potential

• vasomotor adrenergic innervation (sympathetic function)

• beat-to-beat blood pressure & R-R interval changes during Valsalva maneuver
• at least 5 minutes of passive tilt

• cardiovagal innervation ( parasympathetic function)

• heart rate response to deep breathing with recorded R-R interval
• Valsalva ratio
• 30:15 ratio
