Introduction
- Any of several materials that readily separates into long flexible fibers suitable for use as a non-combustible, non- conducting, chemically-resistant insulator. High-risk occupations for asbestos exposure:
- ship & boat building & repair
- mining of nonmetallic mineral & stone products
- brake line assembly
- service in the US Navy
- asbestos work (fabricators, miners)
- construction work (plumbers, plasterers, sheet-metal workers)
