Pathology

• positive in 80% of patients with Lambert-Eaton mysasthenic syndrome due to lung cancer ( small cell carcinoma)
• generally negative in patients with Lambert-Eaton syndrome secondary to non- lung cancer
• 36% of patients have no evidence of cancer Neuronal antigen:

• beta-2 subunit of presynaptic voltage-gated Ca+2 channel ( Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome antigen B)
