Introduction

• A group of disorders.

Etiology

• adrenal hyperplasia
• adrenal adenoma ( steroid secreting)

Clinical-manifestations

• masculinization of women, amenorrhea
• feminization of men
• precocious puberty in children

Laboratory

• serum FSH, serum LH low
• serum estradiol: normal or high
• urinary 17-ketosteroids increased
• serum testosterone may be high (women)
• serum DHEA-sufate may be high
