Introduction

• A flattened, roughly triangular gland lying adjacent to the superior surface of the kidney. It is attached primarily to the crura of the diaphragm.
  

• The adrenal gland is one of the endocrine glands secreting steroid hormones from the cortex & catecholamines (epinephrine & norepinephrine) from the medulla.
