Function

• removes the secondary (acyloxyacyl-linked) fatty acyl chains from the lipid A region of bacterial lipopolysaccharides

* 3-(acyloxy)acyl group of bacterial toxin  
*                 <-->  
* 3-hydroxyacyl group of bacterial toxin + a fatty acid

Structure
